with JIMMY NASSOUR

ABOUT jimmy nassour

Jimmy Nassour is a 65 years old (baby boomer) male. My dad lives in Austin, Texas, has 4 children and is married to my mom. My dad is an attorney that does real estate as a hobby. On the weekends, my dad spends his time going to my brother's lacrosse, basketball and football games and also spends time with family. During the week, my dad spends most of his time in the office in meetings and working but on occasion, my parents go on dates or go to events together. My dad owns his own law firm so he has the ability to take time off frequently and travel. This includes small weekend trips to the coast to go fishing or longer trips over the summer and spring break to various locations. My dad has a very youthful spirit/personality, he loves to crack jokes and stay active.

Interview

  1. How would you describe your shopping style when it comes to clothing?

    1. “I like to shop a sale, rather than a need, although I will shop for something specific if needed” My dad has always shopped sales because he loves a good deal. He thinks that there is really no need to shop for something he wants at full price when he knows it will be on sale later on in a few months.

  2. What stores do you often visit for clothes and why?

    1. “Dillards, Macy’s, or any good clothing store going out of business” My dad is a big real estate guy which gives him the intel on which places are going out of business. He loves to shop at these places because they will have great sales until they finally go out of business officially.

  3. Do you shop alone or with others? Do you actively seek other people’s recommendations while shopping?

    1. “No, I shop alone and do not usually seek others recommendations” My dad knows what he wants so he usually does not seek recommendations. He has a very basic style that ages well so buying clothes for himself is quite easy.

  4. Do you use your mobile phone while shopping? If so, for what and when?

    1. “I do not use my phone when I shop other than occasion to take a photo and send out for advice from Sophie” On occasion, I do receive a text message while my dad shops but it is usually for a recommendation or advice about shopping for others or when he is trying to purchase a trendy item for himself.

  5. What are the most important criteria for you while purchasing clothes?

    1. “Quality, comfort and price. Ideally I like to purchase clothes that are great quality and very comfortable and on sale which makes their prices prime. When it comes to pricing, this is really based on my age and how I was raised. I am a child of a depression era parent” My dad is constantly moving around running errands and working so comfort is key. He also doesn’t always have time to shop for himself which makes quality a key factor too.

  6. What are the least important criteria for you while purchasing clothes?

    1. “Brand is the least important factor yet sometimes it can still be a factor. There are certain brands I like and shop for but usually I do not shop for brands” 95% of the time you can ask my dad what brand his clothing is and he won’t even know. He does not usually pay attention to this which makes it the least important factor while shopping.

  7. Describe a time you may have decided not to purchase merchandise although you liked it. What hindered you?

    1. “I have been in shopping situations where I have loved the clothing item but when I looked at the price it turned me off from purchasing it. I have also been in shopping situations whereI loved the clothing item but was a little unsure due to not being quite sure if it is in style or would look good on me, so I messaged my daughters to get their opinion and was told it is either too young or too old for my age” My dad sometimes likes certain clothing items that we think age him or are too young for his age, we deem this items to not be age appropriate.

  8. What is your favorite brand?

    1. “My favorite brands are Crimeaux, Hickey Freeman, and really any other product brands that are priced correctly for their quality” My dad wear a lot of dress shirts and dress pants but after COVID has really prioritized comfort so when he can find dress clothing brands that are comfortable he thinks he has hit the jackpot.

  9. Describe your relationship with your favorite brand using one word. Explain why you chose this word.

    1. “Comfort. It takes me back to a casual environment and time when I wore jeans, t-shirts, and desert boots daily. That was the most comfortable outfit then and when I wear the same type of outfit now, I get a feel of the same environment I lived in as a younger man”

  10. Are there any brands that you hate? What are the reasons you hate these brands?

    1. “Not sure of many brands that I hate but I definitely do not like brands that are flashy and overly expensive. For example, I am not a huge fan of Versace and other Italian brands whose main goal is to be expensive and look expensive”

Recommendations

  • My dad does not ever shop online but there are so many deals and promotions that are strictly online. I recommend that he looks at these sales and promotions for brands he likes since he knows his exact size in those brands. There really is no risk when it comes to this because he knows exactly what he needs.

  • I also recommend shoes that are “fancy sneakers” like leather sneakers that would be good to wear to the office yet still comfortable. Another recommendation that I have is to try different retailers that provide the quality he likes. For example, Nordstrom has great quality products and a great quality assurance policy so if he is not satisfied with the quality he receives they will ensure to fix this.

  • The last recommendation I have is to invest in some Lululemon pants. They have a style that is meant for white collar workers that is comfortable and stylish. They also have a great quality satisfaction policy.  There are a few examples below.
