BODY SHAPE #2

ANALYSIS, RECOMMENDATIONS, & CLOTHING BOARDS.

ANALYSIS

Age: 19

Gender: Female

For my second model I chose my friend Kenslee. Kenslee has a subtle “X” front width proportion, also called an “hourglass” figure. Her waist width is smaller than her shoulder and hip width which creates this hourglass shape. Kenslee’s hip and shoulder width are almost the same which adds to this hourglass shape. From the side view, Kenslee has little to no bust and a very small buttocks which creates this “i” side width proportion. Kenslee also has a very flat stomach which gives her a very clear “i” side width proportion. Kenslee has a long torso and dropped waistline which creates this “Y” front length proportion. For me, Kenslees face shape was hard to pinpoint but I figured out she has a long face shape. I decided she didn’t have an oval face shape because she doesn’t have the larger forehead and eye area.

RECOMMENDATIONS

After analyzing Kenslee’s front width proportions, side width proportions and front length proportions I have created two outfits for her that would look amazing on her body shape. Kenslee has an hourglass front width proportion which means she should accentuate her small waist. Since Kenslee has an “i” side width proportion, meaning she has a small bust, she should increase the dimension of the bust area by adding texture to the bust area. Lastly, Kenslee has a “Y” front length proportion which suggests she should direct the focus to her upper torso and raise her waistline. Ways Kenslee can do this are through the bolero style and high waisted clothing. For her first outfit, I chose to suggest a ruffled bandeau top in red that will increase the look of the size of her bust. The ruffles have a three dimensional look that creates a false image of a larger bust. I chose to suggest a simple high waisted black jean to accentuate her small waist. I chose to make the jeans high waisted to make the appearance that her waist is higher. Lastly, I chose to suggest a simple black boot with simple studds to compliment the silver finishings and closures on the black denim pants. For her second outfit suggestion, I chose a very modern take on the bolero style sweater to compliment her “Y” front length proportions. The sweater has a gold chain closure which elevates the sweater. I chose to suggest a plain white tank top underneath to make sure nothing takes awake from the sweater (having any sort of pattern could risk making the outfit tacky). For bottoms, I suggested a simple black pair of leather shorts to contrast the girly look of the sweater. The shorts are high waisted to accentuate her small waist. Lastly I chose to suggest gold heels with gold chain accents to compliment the bolero sweater.
